Flash Stuff

You've seen these animations everywhere, you know what they can do.  Apparently more than 99% of web browsers can operate them.  You may or may not have known that they were powered by Flash....

...that almost says it all for now.

Flash can easily animate text and provide links to other web pages.

Alternatively, it can facilitate cartoon animations, data collection and games.

Costs

Flash costs the same to create as the time it takes to measure the length of a piece of string.  Which is to say... it depends.

Most of the movies seen in big websites cost thousands or at least hundreds - and maybe a lot more.

The rough rule of thumb is that if what you require is a smooth cartoon animation, then that's going to cost about the same as doing it in any other technology.  Consider creating stop-motion animation for cinema: it's notoriously time-consuming and expensive.  (If it takes the team behind Wallace and Gromit a day to produce a second of on-screen action, it can easily take us a day to produce a somewhat rougher two-minute sequence.)

However, the beauty of computing is: a lot of things have been systemized and certain specific effects can be much more efficient than if they really were being done by hand one step at a time. The best way is to find some sort of fusion between what you ideally want, and what we can easily do.

So the only realistic way to progress it is for you to tell us what you need.  We can tell you how far it's feasible and how much effort it will take; and we can develop things from there.
